Plant in an open sunny or partly shaded north facing wall/fence sheltered from frost and strong winds. Prefers a slightly acid, moist but well-drained fertile soil. Dig a hole twice the diameter of the root-ball and mix a general fertiliser with the infill soil. Water regularly until established. Plant 1.5m (5ft) apart in rows 2m (6ft) apart.
Fruit is produced on the previous year’s growth and older shoots. Create a framework of 8-10 branches. Each Winter from year 3 shorten main shoots by one-half. Apply a general fertiliser in Spring.

Self fertile
*Bareroot – November to March is the ideal time to plant bare-root plants. These are plants that have been grown in open ground, then dug up for despatch and planting during the dormant season. They are called ‘bare-root’ plants as they are supplied with no soil around their roots. They will come packed in damp compost to stop the roots drying out and should be planted as soon as possible. As long as the compost is kept damp planting can be delayed for a few weeks if necessary.

Collection and Delivery options will be available on checkout. We try to get in stock orders boxed and shipped within 48hrs and often orders placed before 10am are shipped the same day. In busy periods however lead times could be extended. Orders containing plants will only be shipped Monday to Thursday (10am cut off) so they are not sat in boxes over the weekend. If you order after 10am on a Thursday you will not receive your order until Tuesday Seed only orders - £2.00: For orders that contain only packets of seed P&P is £2.00 to anywhere in the UK Standard Delivery - £4.95: Our standard P&P charge is £4.95 to Mainland UK Plants and Seed Potato - £6.95: These products will be subjected to a higher P&P fee of £6.95 due to the extra handling of plants and the extra weight with seed potatoes. Plants and seed potatoes delivered to the Scottish Highlands, Islands and Northern Ireland will incur a surcharge of £8.00 (postcodes listed below) Free Delivery – Over £50: Order over £50 will be delivered free of P&P charges Collection – Nursery: Click and collect is available from the nursery all year around by arrangement. This option can be selected at Checkout. We will then contact you to arrange a collection day and time. Collection – Potato Day: During check out you will have the option to select collection from one of our potato days.
