A holder of the RHS ‘Award of Garden Merit’, this vigorous autumn fruiting cultivar is a primocane variety producing fruit on the first years growth. All Gold has a similar growth habit and cropping potential to Autumn Bliss but the fruit is a very distinctive rich gold colour with a taste that is sweeter and superior to Bliss. The large yellow berries are excellent eaten fresh but are also used to make delicious wine. An excellent variety for growing in pots/containers where the long canes can be trained up an obelisk or bamboo cane wigwam. Recommended as an excellent attractant and nectar source for bees and other beneficial insects.
Cropping season: late August-mid October. Self fertile.
*Bareroot – November to March is the ideal time to plant bare-root plants. These are plants that have been grown in open ground, then dug up for dispatch and planting during the dormant season. They are called ‘bare-root’ plants as they are supplied with no soil around their roots. They will come packed in damp compost to stop the roots drying out and should be planted as soon as possible. As long as the compost is kept damp planting can be delayed for a few weeks if necessary.
