A modern late season variety bred by the Scottish Crop Research Institute. Symphony produces supermarket quality fruits that are uniform in shape, medium-sized, firm and juicy. Excellent old fashioned strawberry flavour. Symphony is resistant to red core and mildew, it also appears to be resistant to vine weevil. Seems to excel in damp conditions, doing particularly well in northern and western climes.
Self fertile. Plant at a distance of 12-18in (30-45cm) apart, and 2ft (60cm) between the rows.
Eventual height and spread: 30cm. Cropping season: Mid-July – Mid-August
