Welsh Onion are used like chives where the leaf is used for flavouring. It contains a mild onion taste but are much bulkier in size than chives. They can grow to a height of 60cm (24″).
Sow seeds thinly in drills 2 cm (¾”) deep, covered with fine soil. Space rows 38cm (15in ) apart . Autumn sowings will overwinter and be ready to use the following year.
To produce the maximum green, do not allowed to flower. Keep well watered during dry weather and spread compost around the clumps in spring. Can be cropped throughout the year when established.
